Statista estimates that 550 thousand motorcycles will be sold in the United States over the next year leading to $6.24 billion in revenue. This is great news for the motorcycle market as sales have increased worldwide after a pandemic-related dip that started in 2020. In fact, the market is expected to continue to grow through 2027, when revenue is projected to be as much as $168 billion.

Motorcycles are big business. China exported $12 billion dollars worth of motorcycles, over a quarter of all worldwide motorcycle exports. This number is also significantly higher than the 3.3 billion worth of motorcycles Germany exported. Similarly, Japan exported 3.2 billion worth of motorbikes, and Thailand exported 3 billion. While the US is well-known for its Harley-Davidson brand of motorcycles, they only moved 1.7% of the world's exports and came in lucky 13 on the list.

Motorcycles are popular both in rural areas with beautiful views where motorcycles can be ridden as a leisure activity and in busy cities. There, motorcycles provide a freedom of movement often not found in gridlocked traffic. This is especially true in cities in China, Japan, and Thailand, even though they all offer beautiful drives to the country. India isn't known for being the safest place to ride a motorcycle, but riders will still see many of the same benefits: ease of movement in crowded cities and beautiful country exploration. The US is known for having some of the most scenic highways for a motorcycle ride. The 1 along the west coast twists and turns with views of the Pacific and changing landscapes from California to Washington. Heading East to West or West to East will give another experience, providing views of flat farmland and open skies.
