Which Country has the Most Miss Universe Winners as of 2024?

  • Data include winners from 1952-2022.
  • The initial winner of the 2002 pageant was a contestant from Russia. However, she was removed from the position after roughly four months, perhaps voluntarily, when it became clear that she could not fulfill the obligations of the title (which largely consist of traveling the world and in support of various charities). She was replaced by a candidate from Panama.
  • Two additional Miss Universe winners have relinquished the title but were not replaced. In 1952, the inaugural Miss Universe resigned the position to get married (Miss Universe is required to be single), and in 1974, the winner from Spain found the job's travel requirements overly time-consuming.
