  • The Trucial States, also known as the Trucial Oman or Trucial Coast, were historically a group of sheikdoms on the southeastern corner of the Arabian Peninsula. These states eventually formed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 1971.
  • The Trucial States included Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al-Quwain, Fujairah, and Ajman, and shortly after, Ras Al Khaimah joined the federation, completing the union of the seven emirates.
