Climate Change Performance Index by Country 2024

  • The most recent results illustrate the main regional differences in climate protection efforts and performance within the 57 evaluated countries and the EU.
  • The first three places in the final ranking have been left deliberately unoccupied due to the fact that none of the countries has yet achieved a performance across all indicators that can be qualified as very high or that fulfills the requirements to limit global warming to well below 2 °C, as agreed in the Paris Agreement.
  • The 19th place in the final rankings is occupied by the European Union, whose countries achieved a collective performance score of 59.96.
  • In 2023, the CCPI did not evaluate the performance of Ukraine due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
