Thailand

Compared to all the countries in the world, Thailand produces more natural rubber than anywhere else. In 2020, Thailand produced about 4,500 metric tons of natural rubber. While this total amount is still leading the world in rubber production, it was down from 2019, producing nearly 5,000 metric tons of rubber.

Indonesia

Close behind Thailand in rubber production in Indonesia. Like Thailand, Indonesia saw a decrease in natural rubber production between 2019 and 2020. In 2019, Indonesia produced roughly 3,200 tons of natural rubber. In 2020, this production dropped to about 3,000 tons of natural rubber.

Vietnam

Unlike Thailand and Indonesia, which both saw a decrease in natural rubber production between 2019 and 2020, Vietnam saw a slight increase. In 2019, Vietnam produced around 1,100 metric tons of natural rubber. In 2020, this amount increased to about 1,200 metric tons. Although this is only a slight increase, it does show notable growth, while the two leading rubber producers declined between 2019 and 2020.

Ivory Coast

Similar to Vietnam, Ivory Coast saw an increase in natural rubber production. Although this country produces just a tiny amount of rubber compared to the global leaders, the rise in production could be notable in years to come. In 2019, Ivory Coast produced about 800 tons of natural rubber. In 2020, the amount of natural rubber produced increased to about 900 metric tons.

China

China produces and exports some of the most vital minerals and resources worldwide. China is a leading producer of natural rubber. Between 2019 and 2020, China’s overall rubber production decreased. In 2019, this country produced about 800 tons of natural rubber, while in 2020, China produced about 700 tons of natural rubber.

India

India produces natural rubber, and between 2019 and 2020, their overall rubber production stayed about the same. In 2019 and 2020, India produced around 700 tons of natural rubber. Some of this natural rubber remained in India, while some portions of the rubber production were exported to countries worldwide.

Malaysia

Similar to other leading natural rubber producers worldwide, Malaysia saw a decrease in its overall rubber production. In 2019, Malaysia produced around 650 metric tons of natural rubber. This amount decreased in 2020, producing only 500 metric tons of natural rubber.

Other

Despite the leading countries producing thousands of tons of rubber, there is still a vast amount of natural rubber made by several other countries. Other countries not mentioned in this list combine about 1,500 tons of natural rubber. This number is significantly up from about 1,350 in 2019.
